Somebody who understands this and C++, could be so kind and compile a newer version. Sources are available, at least so it is stated there.

The FF preview as you know is based on Mozilla ActiveX control. Unfortunately they no longer compile these on a regular basis, but it is possible to do this somehow, it is just that Mozilla ActiveX control is not our field. So any help would be appreciated. It is open source.

I cannot help with a new build for that activeX but I am using the one from the site and is working fine. No issues.

The rendering problems I've experienced are few, but they're enough that I need to double-check in the real Firefox browser to be sure things are what they seem.

This wasn't the case when I had originally updated to FF2 from FF1.5. The odd rendering results began when I fully removed all traces of FF and reinstalled FF2.

Hi all,

So I thought it was me, as a new user of WeBuilder. On my site, I started implementing new expandable buttons which change coloration via CSS, and it seemed to work right in the IE Preview, but not in FireFox Preview.

Then I tested it in real life FireFox .. it worked exactly right!

It's a shame that I lost a day of effort trying to find what I was doing wrong, only to find that I wasn't - the PREVIEW was wrong.

So now I know that I should test something in real life before going further with my debugging analytical activities.

Am I correct in these assumptions, based on the postings here?

Thanks a lot. This does not take away from my pleasure in WeBuilder .. I am finding it a rich tool. Please let me know that my understanding that the FireFox preview is not necessarily correct.

Which leads me to the thought that the CoffeeCup editor turned on actual FireFox or IE when you wanted a preview. That is in a full window, etc., and seemed more rewarding than WeBuilder's preview. Why can't WeBuilder do the same?

Thanks Bandrej. First of all, it is just amazing that here I am in NY, and you are able to help me from Slovenia. First, there is the world-wide aspect of the internet that is wonderful. Secondly, my wife's ancestors were from Slovenia! Their family name is "Intihar."

This is great . .
F2 did the trick, takes me right out there to my home browser, FireFox, in full screen .. and natively, meaning it's as if I went to Windows Explorer and double-clicked on the html file.

My practice page with my CSS image-changing buttons works nicely, which does not occur in the PREVIEW screen.

So, I should do a little more studying of WeBuilder shortcuts, Function Keys, etc.

I appreciate the help. Thanks!

you can set up multiple browsers to launch with multiple shortcut keys.

for instance I use:
f12: firefox
shift f12: Internet explorer
ctrl shift f12: safari
ctrl alt shift f12: opera

I'm sure it's handy but I never use the internal preview. Once your doc is open in one or all of these browsers, just do the three combo solute:

ctrl+s to save
alt+tab to get to your first browser
ctrl+r to refresh the page in the browser

alt+tab+tab and ctrl+r to check the next browser and so on...

Its worth reading the notes on the Firefox preview control. Its not the entire Firefox engine, but a large subset of it. Therefore its not going to be a 100% exact replica of what the browser will actually produce. You've also got the inconsistency with the versions - there may be a display bug in the activeX version which has since been corrected.
