The <a href="javascript:;"> link makes the menu oscillate on items where the sub menu contains "empty links"
But I found what was wrong in the "#" solution.
The main menu button for that item had a typo and in that main button I had @ instead of # in the link
it works now on the phone to!

Phew, that's good to know. I was wondering how it's even possible that # doesn't work
