I sometimes use it, but find it unreliable in v. 7.2.0.68 - sometimes it hangs, and the remote site then has no viewable document until I ftp again with an FTP client such as Filezilla.

The FTP integrated with the Project feature is especially unreliable for me.

In fact the whole Project feature ... I was going to write that it doesn't do much that's useful, but I experimented just now and found that if I view the "File Explorer" in HTMPad, then that automatically displays the current project directory. That's good. I didn't see that feature when reading about projects in the Help file. Maybe I didn't read carefully enough.

It would be very useful to be able to refresh the project directory from the web site. Keeping the files on local disk in synch with what's on the web is important.

Further to my post earlier this afternoon: I see another user had FTP problems because another FPT client is running. That doesn't apply to my experience. FTP from HTMLPad often fails for me when I have no other FTP software open.

It would be nice if you could set a project-wide setting to automatically overwrite a file.

For instance, when I click "Save and Upload File to FTP", it always prompts for "Overwrite", "Overwrite All", "Skip", & "Skip All". It would be helpful to have a checkbox for "Remember this choice" or "Always perform this action".

SFTP

Post by Simon »

Hi,

SFTP with SSH2 is my wish by now.

Today security is a most, specially for remote workers. Even when you will never get the 100% of it, a locked door is better than nothing.

An advanced file management width full chown and chmod support is also desirable but without SFTP I can not use the FTP client at all.

Greetings,

Simon

Greetings... this is my first post... Having built-in FTP was the main reason for purchasing WeBuilder 2006... but so far it is not what was expected.... Haven't figured out how to efficiently upload documents created to sites... seems to do only one at a time... and then can't determine if access to a site is still open after save a file to ftp... I'm accustomed to side by side screen where BOTH what is on my computer and what is on website are displayed...

Also looking for instructors to teach courses for the Internet Academy... Have students interested in learning how to use tools for website creating, etc... We "teach" in Internet Conference Rooms... ... please contact me at email paraadise@itsyournet.om or Skype darlene606 ...

In addition to symlinks working properly (as I posted earlier today in a different thread), I'd love it if the FTP explorer worked the same way that the regular file explorer did, ie, displayed the folder tree. Even if it only displayed directories that you've already visited, this would be a handy feature.

Thanks!

The only thing I'd like to see is sftp support. I hate that my username/password is going over the wire in the clear.

Since this is my first post I'd like to say that I've tried many editors w/ PHP support, open source and commercial, and this has been the most promising to date. Good work and thanks.

i use often the incorporated FTP, practically i save and load in remote..fantastic!! but if possible it would be nice to add drag&drop..i.e. drag a PHP file icon on the work area and it opens!

Please add SFTP

Hi:

I'm throwing in another vote for SFTP. My host requires SFTP, so I have to use a third-party SFTP client. Not a huge issue, but it sure would be nice.

I use the built-in FTP in Dreamweaver, never resorting to a 3rd-party SFTP client while in DW. As for functionality, I use the expanded window, syncronization, and automatic update of dependant files.

HTMLPad Rocks!

SFTP support here too. Oh, and the ability (much like in DW) to be able to DOWNLOAD files/Directories as well as upload
