Multiple Selecting of Files in Project View

Post by adammoro »

Why can I only select one file at a time in the project pane? extremely annoying! I feel like if I pay for an editor I shouldn't have to do workarounds for simple tasks. There are some other similar issues with this editor, for example, the Publish to FTP interface. I mean, come on man, do you think anyone wants to spend the time it takes to sort through the files they need to upload? I actually use FileZilla in combo with Rapid because frankly, uploading more than one file at a time is a pain in the ass (and uploading one file at a time is a pain in the ass too!) with Rapid. Take this post as a suggestion, Karlis, not a complaint. As soon as another editor comes along that doesn't have these issues, I won't hesitate to switch and start recommending that one.

I agree there are some limitations with the way things are done within the editor but the project view is just that, for managing projects. The files viewed there are for reference, not for manipulation, though we can to a certain extent. The FTP side of things has been discussed here at leangth as well and while I use CuteFTP for 'big' tasks, the built-in client is usable for smaller uploading and the right-click 'upload to FTP' is an excellent feature, as is the ability to remember the last upload done and filter by time/date etc.

Remember that editors are editors, not FTP clients. I have tried many other editors and none have fully-blown FTP clients on-board. True, it would be great to have something like that, but then I would expect to pay double the price for the editor.

Just my 2 cents.

Dave.

Thanks, you're right about it being an editor, not an ftp client. I was being a little ridiculous, sorry.
