Hi
Does feature like autocomplete of text entered in current file exist in WeBuilder?
I am not asking about language autocomplete (which works excellent btw).
I am asking if it is possible to start typing "fea" and be able to expand it into "feature" because I already typed it at the begining of this post...
Best regards

Re: Text autocomplete
There isn't anything like you mention that I am aware of in the software I use (WeBuilder) but I can see how this would be quite handy. Perhaps this is something to put in 'feature requests'.
However, to achieve something similar, I use the auto replace feature. It isn't exactly what you are talking about, but for words I use a lot but can't be bothered typing all the time, I create and autoreplace entry with a keyword to trigger it. For example, I use the word functionality a lot, but for some reason often mis-spell it, so I created a keyword 'fcty' in the auto replace feature and just type that instead; the editor then replaces fcty with functionality on the fly. I have done this with a huge number of troublesome words, especially those with apostrophes, like don't, can't etc. which frees me up to just type and let the editor do most of the hard work. It works brilliantly for me, though your mileage may vary.
I know this isn't what you are after but it does come in very handy for me.
Dave.

Re: Text autocomplete
Hi,
There is some part of this feature implemented for JavaScript and also PHP.
Try this for PHP:
You will see that the standard PHP autocomplete functions do not pick up any items for var, because there are no class definitions available. But then fall-back algorithm engages, and picks up item1.
So, the mechanism for such feature would be here already, but then we need more feedback to see what do others think about it, and how would this feature work.
Maybe there are some similar implementations in some other editors?

$var->try_to_call_autocomplete_here

Re: Text autocomplete
This is very useful feature. Scintila has it by default. EditPlus has it as "Search in document" (don't know why that name because it is not search function), Notepad++ too...
It is not very important feature, but it makes editing easier...

Re: Text autocomplete
I have only Notepad++ here on my PC. How do you enable/use this feature...?
