Docking Panels

Post by TPO »

Hardly a critical issue, but I just bought HTML Pad 21010 and I'd Love to be able to dock my File Explorer panel on the left & Code Explored on the right... I can drag them, but not dock them... any advice?

Big thanks!

I have mine setup very similar to that.
On the left I have Code Explorer, Library & Inspector.
On the right Clipboard & File Explorer.

Just had a little play, and it works better if you drag the panels by the tab rather that the title bar.

Glad you got it working now.

I also came to Webuilder from using EditPlus, think I found WeBuilder about 4 years ago.

Hi All:

Yup, I have exactly the same problem in HTMLPad: panels floating and I can't dock them. I'm really not sure what the answer "drag the panels by the tab rather that the title bar" means, nor the response ".leave the panels & swap the tabs out..". Dragging does not dock, and the explorer panel floats and covers the code editing panel.

Any help appreciated. If I can get this working, I'll have no hesitation in purchasing HTMLPad.

Hi,

See the screenshot below for an example of what I meant, I find it's better to drag the panels from here:

Docking can be fiddly but it is possible to put the tool-bars and panels pretty much anywhere you want them. As said by others more knowledgeable, drag entire panels or just one tab from a panel to move it and hover around the area you want it to go - be patient and careful and you'll soon find just how to do it. If it is designed to go in a certain place, you'll discover the sweet spot where the outline will change and it will pop into place when you release the mouse button.

Once done, go to View and save layout, call it something meaningful and that way if for whatever reason the layout changes you can easily restore your preferred workspace.

Many thanks guys. The drag-the-tab trick works just fine.

As a newbie, I've a few other questions which I'll post in other threads.

Again, thanks for your replies.
