Custom toolbar settings
I just installed 2011 but my custom toolbar is not there. Is there a way to get that from 2010 to 2011
Re: Custom toolbar settings
I'm not sure if it would work, but you could try swapping the .dok and .lay files in the application data folders from the folder 10.0 to the folder 11.0. This looks like it holds the layouts that have been saved, though if it also includes tool-bar modifications I cannot say. I would also make backups of each file before overwriting it, just in case this really breaks something.
Just where the appdata folders are on your machine depends on whether you have files hidden by default and what OS you are running. In Vista/7, the path to the 10.0 and 11.0 folders will be:
C:\Users\*your_user_name*\AppData\Roaming\Blumentals\WeBuilder\layouts
In XP, can't be certain, but they'll either be in
C:\Documents and Settings\*your_user_name*\Application Data\Blumentals\WeBuilder\layouts or
C:\Documents and Settings\*your_user_name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Blumentals\WeBuilder\layouts
or somewhere around there.
Other than that, there might be some other configuration-type files used for such purposes buried is those files somewhere, but I cannot claim to know what they are and I wouldn't want to point you in the wrong direction and really stuff something up. If worst comes to the worst, and if it is just the tool-bars that need recreating, you can always just go through and tweak them manually, though I understand that may take a while if you have lots of modifications from the original layouts.
Good luck

Re: Custom toolbar settings
thanks for the response.
yes those files were already there but i re-copied them anyway when did (export settings).
I also checked every file in the Roaming\Blumentals\WeBuilder folder and nothing there as well as the all the files in the application folder.
I really need my toolbar back and it is a very time consuming task to get it the way i like it.
Also the custom context menu did not copy over. i have a completely customized context menu and that was even more time consuming.
I even checked the registry for these settings and could not find.

Re: Custom toolbar settings
These settings must be somewhere, either an .ini file (or similar) or registry settings - the software must refer to these settings in order to get everything arranged each time it starts (unless it is hard-wired into a .dll, .ocx or even a .exe file, though I'd doubt it). Perhaps the .lok and .dok files transferred are not compatible with the new version. It will be interesting to see if one of the devs will comment on this issue.
Sorry to not be of much help.

Re: Custom toolbar settings
I have mine installed to a USB stick. It used to be very easy to update the software by copying over the "Settings" and "Layouts" folders. I tried to do that from 2010 to 2011 and it didn't work. I have a feeling the layout files from the 2010 version won't work in 2011
I have a ton of menu customizations, I hope I don't have to rebuild them all! Hopefully Karlis will provide some info. Until then, I will keep using 2010 for my dev work.

Re: Custom toolbar settings
Hi,
The versions of the components we use for the Menus are updated/upgraded from time to time.
Sorry, but that also means that there might be some incompatibilities in the formats/values used.
If the menus do not work after you have copied the layout folder from the old version to the new one, then there is nothing you can do about it..
