editing SOME files with FTP breaks them?

Post by wfcentral »

when I try to edit files created with other programs...

there are certain files that I open on FTP to edit and notice that they are "expanded" - meaning there is an extra empty line between every line of code.

when I try to save the file it breaks it and it will not run.

if I try to edit code that I have written it does not do this... it opens normally (no extra spaces) and saves normally.

So, I'm guessing these files created by other software are of some "format" that Rapid PHP is reading differently... I've looked through all the settings, but not even sure what I'm looking for.

I'm not sure what it could be related to but it might be either file format or related to FTP server configuration. Either way if you have FTP account in some server that is not super-confidential that contains a file that RapidPHP opens this way, PM me the details and I'll take a look if it's a bug and if it's fixable.
