Include the version, if available, in the Plugin Manager dialog. I would simply place it right after the name, as in
DocBlock Comments v1.2
This would just be a quick way for a user to determine whether the version was up to date.
I would interpret the version entry in plugin.ini as a string so that modifiers could be added:
DocBlock Comments v1.3ß
DocBlock Comments v1.3 beta
etc.
