FTP enhancements

Post by joamlin »

Hi,
I would like to add a couple of FTP enhancements to the wish list:
  • - In the File Explorer view, "Folders" is marked as default. As I only work with remote files on my FTP server, I would like an option to have “FTP” selected at startup instead.
  • - Every time you save a remote file, a small modul window is shown. If you save minor changes all the time, this window becomes quite annoying. Maybe a new option to have it hidden by default.
  • - When you’re connected to a FTP site, the folders are shown at the top with vertical scrolling. The files are shown below, with horizontal scrolling. It makes no sense to have horizontal scrolling for the files, please make it possible to have vertical scrolling instead.

I've written down your suggestions.

Regarding vertical scrolling - maybe you would prefer to work in Details mode (especially since your primarily work with FTP). Right click FTP files area, select View -> Details. This will make it so that the list is vertical, and will let you quickly see various file attributes (size, permissions etc).
