Great Review, thanks. PHPStorm, excellent acquisition.
I use VSC and Netbeans after I purchased CodelobsterIDE, PhpED and RapidPHP.

Obviously, you are independently wealthy.

I do remember you mentioning Codelobster and PhpED to me.

I would like to...
Right now I cannot afford PHPStorm.

I use laragon for wordpress development and VSCode IDE. Intelephense is great. Debugger works excellent. I have great snippets, multicolumn edit, multi cursor, PHPStan, COdeSniffer etc., etc.

Thanks for that tip about laragon. Installing a WAMP stack is just a few items down on my to do list and it appears that laragon is a much simpler solution than the stacks I used before.

Well, in all fairness I won't mention that here. I'm not even suggesting that I'll do one. Frankly, it's more likely that I will write about Visual Studio Code first; I've been using it heavily for the past few weeks. But again, this is a forum about Blumentals' products, not about others, so I won't mention any review of VSC here, either.

Remember, my goal is not to replace Rapid PHP. My goal is to replace Expression Web.

Will, Thanks a lot for VSC - FL.
What about Intelephense ?
It is better than Intellisense.
When activate intelephense, In settings.json use:
"php.suggest.basic": false

That eliminates more than one suggestion for the same statement.

When you said you'd be on the lookout for it, you really meant it. I'm being stalked!

I'll give it another look. Some time ago I tried both Becker's and Newburn's extensions and at the time I thought Becker's was better.

I'm not going to continue this discussion here because we're not talking about a Blumentals product. I will be glad to continue via email.

Will, I appreciate your expertise.
I'll use email.
But when I see such a large amount of spam on this forum, I'm starting to think the owners don't care.
