Please try to follow these guidelines. This will help to receive faster and more accurate response.
  • Check the Support section of the corresponding product first. Chances are you will find your answer there;
  • Do not create new topics for already reported problems. Add your comments to the existing topics instead;
  • Create separate topic for each problem request. Do NOT post a number of non-related problem reports in a single topic;
  • Give your topic a meaningful title. Titles such as "A question," "Bug report" and "Help!" provide others no clue what your message is about;
  • Include the version number of the software you are using;
  • This is not an official customer support helpdesk. If you need a prompt and official response, please contact our support team directly instead. It may take a while until you receive a reply in the forum;

Access Violation Error in Rapid PHP 2008 RC

Post by jerm »

I upgraded to Rapid PHP 2008 RC today and repeatedly encounter this error mesage:

Access violation at address 005809BD in module 'rapidphp.exe' read of address 00000420

This sometimes happens when I open File Explorer (CTRL-ALT-F) and sometimes when I click anywhere inside the editor window. Sometimes it seems to happen without any input from me at all.

It is an intermittent fault and the error message sometimes appears once only and sometimes repeats endlessly every few seconds.

The only way to continue working is to close Rapid PHP and re-open.

Please try WeBuilder which has built-in capability of reporting errors and send us the automatically created error report.

Ok, now you can send automatic bug reports via Rapid PHP too. Starting from version 9.0.0.91

Unless we receive the complete report that includes call stack, there is little we can do about random A/V errors.

Thanks for that Karlis.

I've downloaded and installed the latest version of Rapid PHP and sent a couple of error reports already. Please let me know if you want me to stop sending them!

Nope, please update your version and continue sending them. You should send no more than 2-3 reports of the same problem, though.
