better dual monitor support

Post by blepore »

Just purchased WeBuilder 2008 earlier today and am very happy with it. The only thing that would please me more is if WeBuilder did a better job remembering what monitor it was on. Whenever I launch WeBuilder, it always opens itself on monitor 1. I like to code on monitor 2 and it's a slight annoyance to have to always move it between screens on launch.

Probably tied in with this, but I use Mutlimon Taskbar to add a task bar on my second monitor. Unlike every other application that I use, when I drag the application from monitor 1 to monitor 2 the application moves from taskbar to taskbar, with the exception of WeBuilder. Because of the issue with WeBuilder always launching on monitor 1, I bet fixing that issue will fix this as well.

Is there any chance this could be addressed in future versions? Any ideas for a preference/registry hack in the mean time to work around this?

I think this is a maybe a problem of Multimon?! I use UltraMon to have this second taskbar feature (so that apps, which are on the 2nd mon. appear in the 2nd taskbar) and everything works correctly. Just tried it with WeBuilder 2008 a few secs ago - moved it to the 2nd monitor and task appeared on the 2nd taskbar ... closed the app and reopened it - position on 2nd monitor was saved ... same position as before.

Hmm, I guess that is possible that it could be MultiMon. It just seems odd because Bluemantal products are the only applications that I have used that I have had this problem for. Nice to hear that there is at least an alternative.

Heaven forbid that Microsoft just good multiple monitor support out of the box. :-p
