WeBuilder 2008 + Vista: CLI has stopped working
I continually get this message: "CLI hass stopped working" -- prompted either by saving a file or simply making edits to a file. I found some information regarding XAMPP, which I use, but it occurs even when XAMPP isn't running. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: WeBuilder 2008 + Vista: CLI has stopped working
I have not seen that particular message but I do have problems with my preview pane going to a "page not found" message after I save whatever file I'm working on. I am also using xampp but on XP, not Vista.
Do you have any idea what CLI means? I'm wondering if our problems are somehow related since it sounds like they both occur after saving?

CLI is the Command Line Interface. I've unchecked "Enable Realtime PHP Syntax Checks" to see if that helps...

Ok, "command line interface" is what I was thinking but it didn't (and still doesn't) make sense... so I thought I would ask. Hmmm.

You need to update PHP (or at least some bits):

I also had this problem a while ago and I also use XAMPP. Updating XAMPP to the latest version fixed it. If you already have the latest version of XAMPP maybe reinstalling would do the trick?

This is a known issue with the prev files. When you save, the prev file is incremented, but the old page remains in the preview window.joemichaud wrote:I have not seen that particular message but I do have problems with my preview pane going to a "page not found" message after I save whatever file I'm working on. If you click one of the other tabs (eg, from 'Preview' to 'Horizontal Split', or vice versa) the preview pane will use the correct prev.htm file, and all will be well again (er, until you save again, of course).

Yeah, this needs to be updates as well...
Re: WeBuilder 2008 + Vista: CLI has stopped working
This is probably not the place to ask this, but is updating XAMPP as simple as downloading the latest version and installing it over the previous? I can't seem to find anything about updating, and I don't want to lose any data or settings...jerm wrote:I also had this problem a while ago and I also use XAMPP. Have a look at the SourceForge download page for xampp. It has upgrade specific installers available for download.Addison wrote:This is probably not the place to ask this, but is updating XAMPP as simple as downloading the latest version and installing it over the previous? I save obsessively... I hit ctrl-s every few minutes without even thinking about it. Unfortunately, this means that the preview issue is very pronounced for me.Karlis wrote:Yeah, this needs to be updates as well...
Thank you! I had managed to find that trick on my own... I just wasn't aware that this is a known and separate issue. My apologies for hijacking this thread with an unrelated issue!chrisjlocke wrote:If you click one of the other tabs (eg, from 'Preview' to 'Horizontal Split', or vice versa) the preview pane will use the correct prev.htm file, and all will be well again (er, until you save again, of course).

I always uninstall XAMPP first (making sure that I firstly save my own files from within the htdocs folder) and then install the new version. Any XAMPP settings are presumably saved somewhere in the user\app data folder or equivalent.Addison wrote:This is probably not the place to ask this, but is updating XAMPP as simple as downloading the latest version and installing it over the previous? Thanks for the XAMPP update tips -- much appreciated.
