[HTMLPad] ISO 8859-2

Post by absolon »

I'd like to use ISO-8859-2 encoding for my pages.
But during writing I use Windows code page (it's obvious, I'm running program under MS Windows).
In preview window or after saving page it shown improper characters instead of national letters.

I can set UTF-8 encoding then in status bar I choose UTF-8 and it's working. But how to work with ISO?
By the way how to set permanet UTF-8 in status bar? When I create new document it's always set to ANSI in status bar.

Thanks in advance.

You can set default encoding in Preferences (under Options menu).

I believe you can support ISO 8859-2 by adding the appropriate META tag and setting ISO 8859-2 as the default encoding on your computer for all non-Unicode programs. This combination could do the trick.

I would recommend to use UTF-8, because it is more modern and widely supported than ISO.

Thanks for quick response. I didn't saw this option in Preferences before. My mistake.
And you're right. I should switch to UTF-8 permanently :) It seems to be "standard" nowadays.
