educational discount? website down?

Post by codan »

Karlis,

Any interest in offering Webuilder at an educational discount? I'd like my college to get 20 copies to be key-served. I'd also like to be able to offer students the opportunity to purchase webuilder.

Also, blumentals.net seems to be down for the last few days. Hence contacting you via this forum.

Thanks,
Dan

Well, for me at both home and work, on two different computers, I can get to the forum but http://www.blumentals.net won't open. I get "Network Timeout The server at http://www.blumentals.net is taking too long to respond." on Firefox, and a similar message from IE. Every other place on the net is working though.

Even the order now button in Webuilder does the same thing.

I've learned that its a Windows problem - so ignore that part of the message.

EDIT: locally it was firewalled, that's fixed now

OK.

I am buying a copy for my own use at my college, and when our web design class comes up again in 2 years I'll have them buy new software if at all possible.

I talked to my students. The consensus was that at a price of $30 almost all would purchase it. At $50 they won't, and will use non-smart editors. Short sighted I know, because they will do web development in many classes, but that is what they told me.

I like your product very much.

Note that if you need a bulk-license (say for every student in your class), then special academic discounts apply.

On a totally unrelated matter, note that on the 'Buy me!!' splash screen for WeBuilder, it says you can buy it from $49.85. However, a personal licence is only $35.85, so it should really say from $35.85.
Semi-technically, the 'from' should be the lowest available price, so you could also argue that it should say, "from $21".

But I digress... ;)

Maybe just change it to "from Karlis"?
