Maybe my memory is totally shot, but I think that WB (pre-2008) css preview actually previewed something: it created a web page that displayed each css element. But maybe it's just me.... Wazzup? Am I feeble-minded, crazy, or spot on?

The solution turns out to be a setting in preferences:
Options --> Preferences --> Preview --> Mappings --> Turn off "Use Folder Mappings When Displaying Preview"
HTML previews with 'folder mappings' off or on
PHP previews with 'folder mappings' off or on
CSS previews with 'folder mappings' off, but not on
Is "Use Folder Mappings When Displaying Preview" documented somewhere? I haven't found it. I've found (and learned from) references to 'mapping'

It's weird that this is checked for you; it isn't by default as far as I know. I used mapping for viewing asp pages running on my local webserver; besides those types of use, there should be nothing in there, especially for CSS preview. The only mapping refered to in the help is for setting up and previewing PHP (or similar pages). It could be expanded on, though I assume Blumentals take for granted people setting up a PHP server would know what mappings are and how they work; I didn't but managed to work it out.
As long as they keep thinking likre that, they will never attract the new coders looking for a program like WeBuilder that is easy to learn and so feature-rich.

Weill, that's just my assumption; I tend to be pessimistic; who knows what they think!

Dave.
The documantation could be better for things such as this, though. That would make it a lot easier for new coders to set things up and give the support people some welcomed breaks from answering all the newbie questions.
Mappings are docummented. Jou just have to use Help -> Help Topics and search for "Mappings". But this does not help, I think an auto-config wizard is needed here.
