Library Gone
Hi guys
Interesting glitch here tonight. I opened WB to do some work and my library is now blank. The last time I used WB was this morning, the date stamp on the library.xml file confirms this was the last time used. When I used it then, it had all the standard library items as well as a dozen or so of my own entries. Now they are gone, not that I am particularly bothered about losing them, just the fact something has blown it away has me worried.
I deleted that empty library.xml file and reinstalled again; the library was recreated so at least I can start again.
One other thing; during installation I select the option not to create a start menu folder, yet the installer always installs one anyway. Why? To install that shortcut to your site? I already know it. Why bother giving that option at all if you are just going to ignore my choice and install something there anyway, it makes no sense.
Dave.

Re: Library Gone
Could it be that your computer crashed or the application crashed, causing the library to get corrupted?
About the installer, you must understand that it is not intentional, creating bugs to make you suffer is never intentional. Obviously it is not by design and there is some small error somewhere that we will try to correct.

Re: Library Gone
I've had similar problems with disappearing library.xml files before (or rather, zeroing). I semi-regularly back it up now, just in case.
Re: Library Gone
No, no crash, just went to use WB and, as Syrupcore mentioned, my library file had 'zeroed'. Oh well, I will be adding that folder to my backup shcedule now.
As for the start menu, sorry, I didn't mean to come across as angry; I noticed the installer does this on all your software that I purchased so I assumed it was intentional.

Re: Library Gone
Hi everyone,
I am missing my library snippets too.
I had a strange RapidPHP 2008 install, as none of my RapidPHP 2007 project information transferred over. However, this was easily recaptured. But I have noticed that when I open up the library window there is nothing there. I checked my library.xml file and it only contains
"<?xml version = "1.0"?><Folder-list></Folder-list>"
Is there a way I can recapture the original library snippets that come with the install?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Bill

Re: Library Gone
This should do ya.
http://www.creapsoft.co.uk/downloads/library.zip
Simply download and place in the 'settings' directory (c:\documents and settings\user\application data\blumentals\webuilder\settings)

I'm just finalising a WeBuilder settings backup program, which should help for situations like this in the future.

Re: Library Gone
Oops. A 'yes' should have been a 'no'. Thanks for letting me know!

Re: Library Gone
Works fine here, a library.xml file in a zip folder.Boofo wrote:That link gives an access denied message.
