Help with exporting Settings

Post by gChambers »

First of all, let me say that I love Rapid PHP 2008. I use it every day. :D

Over time I've made a substantial amount of changes in the Options/Preferences section (as well as to htmlTidy and CSE HTML Validator).
Everything is working just fine on my primary computer.

I want to transfer all my Preferences to a copy of Rapid PHP 2008 on a new laptop. Export instructions say to copy the contents of C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Blumenthals\Rapid PHP\settings\ and paste into the corresponding folder on the new computer.

Here's the problem... There is no such folder (...Application Data\Blumenthals\Rapid PHP\settings\) on either my primary computer or the laptop. Both computers are running XP. The preferences must be stored somewhere because the application is working fine.

If this is any clue... I still have Rapid PHP 2007 installed on my primary computer. Must I un-install PHP 2007? Re-install PHP 2008?

Please help me find the Settings folder.

hi

Do you have hidden files, er, hidden? I think this will cause the appdata folder to not appear.

To check, open explorer (start+E ftw) and go to "tools>folder options" and click the "view" tab. In the window at the bottom, you'll see a "hidden files and folders" option, make sure that's set to "show".

Can you see it now?
