During a project, I'm a pretty insecure guy when I have half a dozen files open and I get an alert message.."Do you want to save changes is file whatever?" I didn't make any any changes to that file (Did I??), or did the cat walk across my keyboard? So I proceed to carefully check the file, doing an unchange toggle back. Of course, I now realize that anytime a an XML file is opened and I copy a portion for use in another file, the copyied file registers a change. I think a change should be registered only if the file structure has been changed, not just when a portion its highlighted for copy.

Re: WB08- File changes when only copying a segment
Does this always happen? Can't reproduce this.
Re: WB08- File changes when only copying a segment
I went through my various XML files and just clicked on the text. Some went to 'change', others did not..?
I will attempt to find the common factor in the files that do go to change. I'll be back when I have the answer.

OK. I do alot of updating of XML files on the server. It seems that those files, changed on the server, i.e. outside the editor, are sensitized to my next visit via the editor. So whenever I merely focus on the file it registers change.
I can work around this now that I understand what causes it.
