Hi,

This functionality is already built in, at least to WeBuilder, not sure about HTMLPad, Rapid CSS or Rapid PHP.
Launch WeBuilder, and then simply select Options -> Install to USB stick

Cheers,

Great, i know why Webuilder for me is the best editor :)

Is there a possibility to let an icon appear for it in my U3 Launchpad. I guess it would be better on a U3 Stick to install it in the U3 Apps Folder, so it would be a bit more protected against changes on the stick?

Currently U3 is not supported, but the Install to USB will ensure that the program is contained in the installed folder and does not depend on anything else. So it can run from USB even without U3 installed.

Hi
what is the best way to upgrade a portable installation of RapidPHP 2008 to a more recent version without losing settings? If I install the upgrade to the hard disk and then install it to a portable drive will it overwrite the settings I already have on the USB stick?
Thank you.

To make sure you do not lose your settings, when you update your installation on a USB stick, follow these steps:
1) Export settings from your version on the USB stick and make a back-up of the Settings folder (as specified in the dialog once you use the Settings Export feature);
2) Install the new product version on your computer;
3) Using the new version on your computer, do a "Install to USB Stick..." to the same folder on your USB stick where your previous version was (you may delete the contents of this folder before that, so there are no overwrite warning prompts);
4) Overwrite the settings folder with the back-up folder you have created in the first step.

Hope this helps.
