I am pleased that your software is under on-going development but I am annoyed that there is not a simpler way to do up-grades. I followed the instructions to backup the "settings" directory but this does not keep menu changes. I like to make quite extensive changes to the original menu but loose these every time there is an upgrade.
Should I backup the whole C:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\Blumentals directory before any future upgrade then copy it back after the new upgrade?
While I'm here, can I also ask for a "close" and "close all" buttons please.
I really do like your editor(s); keep up the good work.
Regards,
Peter

Re: Update: 2010 v10.0.0.116
Menus (layouts) are the only setting that is not transferrable, because bugs may occur, however at your own risk you can transfer your old menus manually and in 99% cases there should be no problem.
Simply after installing the new version copy files from C:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\Blumentals\WeBuilder\layouts\9.0 to 10.0
Also, if you have created particular layout you love, save it with an unique name (e.g. My Layout) and each time the layout is reverted upon update, simply select your saved layout from the list.

Thanks for your quick reply. I didn't know about the "My Layout" option. I will have a look at this now.

Re: [2010 v10.0.0.116] Need simpler way to do up-grades
I would like to migrate HTMLpad (v10.x) from WinXP to Win7, especially the various display settings I have stored. Where do I have to copy these setting files in Win7?
In WinXP they are located in C:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\Blumentals\WeBuilder\layouts\9.0 to 10.0
Thanxs for your help.

In start menu "Search programs and files" box paste this:
%Appdata%\Blumentals\WeBuilder
press Enter.
That will open the right folder on Windows 7
