My HTML files are on a remote, mapped folder..can't get them

Post by haperlman »

I'm evaluating Webuilder for our group in another state. All of the project HTML pages are on a remote server. But, that folder is mapped to a local drive for me (we use "AFS"),and for years I've been able to work on those file (currently using Homesite).

I downloaded Webuilder and I can't see how to set up that remote folder (my M drive) for my project. I went to Preferences and pasted that M folder path in, but it was rejected. Using the folder brows button in Webuilder, it only shows true local drives.

From old posts, it seems Webuilder did not support remote drives, but that note was back in 2006. Is there a way to access remote drives now?

Thanks,

I think I used to use server paths with success. I do everything locally via SVN now so it's a little cloudy but I worked on remote folders all the time. think it was like:

\\server\path\to\folder

but I could be on crack... again.

Use mapped network drives with projects all the time without any problems

Right - it works fine now!
Apparently I installed Webuilder and then went right to work. It only found local disks.
But, after I closed Webuilder and then reopened it, the network drives now show up.
