I am not able to reproduce the problem. Probably it is something your system specific, so more details would be appreciated.

Choose a root

C:\poo\fuz

Now choose a subfolder

C:\poo\fuz\proj1\special\this week's project

Now restart

C:\poo\fuz is selected.
That is wrong.

C:\poo\fuz\proj1\special\this week's project
should be
