New feature needed for Project management

Post by Darakoba »

Hello,

I really liked your program until my first visit and think about to buy your program. But I'm missing a basical funktion for professional programming: the saving of the last projects.

As you can see, there are more hints to that missed feature under the following links:
http://forums.blumentals.net/viewtopic. ... ile#p10885
http://forums.blumentals.net/viewtopic. ... ile#p12391

Please let me know, if your program has a feature that provides by opening a projekt that the acutally open files can be closed (and saved for the next opening) and the files of the former session can be oppened by one step? Is it possible to switch easyly between two projects? Is there any feature for this in your program?

In advance for your quick answer

Best regards

Currently there is option that remembers previously open files next time the program is launched, at the present moment it does not work project-wise.

The question is what to do with the non-project files that are opened while project is opened also and what to do if you have files from multiple projects open at a time. And how to deal with conflicts between existing option and individual project-basis file memory. These all must be properly thought out before anything can be done.

Hello Karlis,

thanks for answer.

I'm working now with Zend Studio 5.5 and there it is so:
- Only one Project can be open at the same time
- If you open an project, it open only the last opend files, NOT all files of the project.
- If you open files out of the project after you have open a project, then this files are included to the project. This means, if you close the project and open it again, this files are opend too.
- If you haven open files out of any project and open then a project, a question pop up "Do you want this files save in a new project" - "YES or NO". YES: You can build a new projekt and NO: The opend files are included in the new opend project.
- If you close a project ALL files become closed.

If you speak german, then I gladly write you all details and answer all question in german.

Same.

- If you open an project, it open only the last opend files, NOT all files of the project.

Resonable.

This would cause problems. Opening a simple file, probably belonging to no project or other project should not automatically add it to current project. Asking for this seems like a solution, but it is more appropriate for "studios" and huge ides. So if we go there, we need to think of a smarter solution.

- If you close a project ALL files become closed.

This is also not good for a quick developers editor (while completely reasonable for huge ide where you spend hours concentrating on one huge project).

Your need is reasonable, but we need to find a smart slution and not copy something from some other ide.

Hy Karlis,

thanks for your response and the program update in WeBuilder 2010.

Some time has past by since our last threat.
In the meantime I bought WeBuilder 2010 and still I'm working and happy with
it, except the missing Tool "administration for projects"
I've an idea, how to solve the problem really easy:

Actual WeBuilder Version 10.2.0.121 works as following:
If a user closes the WeBuilder 2010 and open it later again, actually the last
opened files come up including the flashing of the cursor on the latest
working position. This is a appreciated function! Thanks.
My hint/wish:
If the a.m. described function is possible for each opened project, I think
that it would be easier for all users.
I like to specific this a little more:
I'm working on project A, but have to close it, because I have to work on with
project B.
In the next step I open project B and WeBuilder 2010 opens for me
automatically all former open files of my last working with project B and the
cursor is hovering on the latest opened position of project B, while I'm still
working with project B.

Same should be, if I've open project C,D.. etc. with the former open and
closed projects A and B and so on.

It would be really great, if you could overdo the programming in that way.

What do you think about my proposal?

Thanks and regards
