Please constructively explain the situation - does this happen with all files and folders. Do you have English version of Windows and what is your system language setting.

It is hard to tell, because hobody has had such problems before. Most likely you have selected not traditional system fonts. But I would not like to guess at this point.

I have Japan WinXP with ALL standard fonts

All windows programs written for the English version of Windows work with Jp filenames except for yours.
Because you aren't using a standard listbox right?

There is OS level support for this stuff. Unless you are doing some processing that is breaking unicode.

I have a similar thing. But that files displayed in the list cannot be opened/renamed because it tries to open the wrong file.

Displays OK but tries to access '???.html" etc.

We use third party components for File Explorer. I'm afraid they might be causing the problem. Does this happen with all files or only with files containing local characters?

files containing local characters will display correctly but your program will convert all those into ? and then try to open '????.txt'
now since they display correctly, you must be doing some processing to them

Ok, I see. If it is possible, could you drop me a line at support[at]blumentals.net, so we could try to sort this out together as I do not have access to localized Windows XP version. Thanks!
