Shrinking animation causes blurring

First, I'm brand new to this, so my apologies if this is something very basic. I have been resizing (shrinking) several emoticons, and they all become blurry when shrunk. I've looked for something in the program to try to help with that but didn't find anything. Is there anything I can do to keep resized/shrunken images as clear as the originals? Thank you.

If you change image size, the quality will change in most cases. You can smoothly resize whole animation using Resize Animation command. If you need to resize just part of the animation using your mouse, the program will do best that it can to make things smooth but you may notice slight change in quality. Usually decreasing image size does not incur noticeable quality loss.
