Integration: Smarty Syntax

Post by JesseLeeStringer »

Attn: Moderators, I've searched the forums and cannot find a "recent thread" regarding smarty.

To the Developers,

I currently code in smarty via requirement of a third-party eCommerce script (http://cs-cart.com) which uses a mix of PHP/Smarty.
Granted the use of Smarty is somewhat not as popular as PHP however it is becoming increasingly used in all aspects of my daily programming activities.
It would be extremely useful to myself and at least a few handful of developers that I know of personally who are looking for a suitable TPL editor.

At the present moment I cannot migrate fully from Adobe Dreamweaver for this same reason as many developers (some whom still use Dreamweaver MX for the TPL plugin)
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Jesse-Lee Stringer

Hi,
We have received several requests about adding support for Smarty.
Currently we have this in our to-do list.
First we will check out what this really means in terms of functionality needed in editor, and then decide if this is worth doing it.
I am afraid, we can not give any specific dates.
Kind regards,

Hi Gatis,

If anything a majority of developers will be more enthusiastic for syntax highlighting rather than the actual code blocks of smarty.
Added to this is the new version of Smarty soon to be released so it's probably better to wait until it is standardized.

Couldn't this get release as like a plugin or something? Free of course.
