Changing Webuilder (or Word) program icon

Post by annerykiln »

I know this will seem trivial but, to me at least, it is hiccup in productivity:

The Webuilder icon is, for me, too similar to the Word icon. When I want to change windows quickly it is not sufficiently 'intuitive' (not quite the right word) to spot and click on.

Can anyone advise how to either:

Change the Webuilder icon to a different one - could be same design but different colour (I am a designer, so can do the graphic bit)

or

Change the Word icon

Hi,

Kind of agree, sometimes when you have a directory with web files, and Word files, it is confusing.

But how you change it depends on what version of Windows you have. XP is easy, but for Vista and Windows 7 looks tricky as they removed the options.

This is how to do it in XP, easy to do but sometimes it seems to ignore you!

For Vista and Windows 7 it looks like you have to edit the registry:

Hmmm... that would be fine for file icons in a directory display.

Thanks for finding those references, I appreciate the time.

But I was meaning the taskbar icon for WeBuilder or Word - i.e: the icon for the program itself rather than files associated with it.
