Homesite/ColdFusion Studio replacement

Post by plarts »

I have installed and review the "Webuilder" features, a bit rapidly,

not bad, it could be a replacement of Homesite, if it has
all bar/buttons for CFML language.

or may be somebody could build it and distribute it for a few money,
with the custom tool bar.

One thing left, is :
how to conveert all my Homsite snippets I have built during 10 years of
web devlopment.

I understand that "snippet" word, does not mean the same thing under Homesite
and Webuilder.

Under Homesite, I use them for any peace of code
Under Webuilder, I have seen that we retrieve the main language tags.
(these tags are in toolbar under Homesite).

Thanks for any suggestion, to get the best appropriate Web editor.
(do not recommand me Dreamweaver, done for non developpers people)

Pierre.

Hi,

Thank you for suggestion.
Support for coldfusion has been requested before, but currently this has a lower priority than other things.
For example, with next version we have implemented support for Template Engine - Smarty.
I can not promise support for coldfusion will be introduced - it depends on the demand for it.

Maybe this request goes together with following request:

You could add custom syntax files at least.

As for the snippets. Not sure I understand this.
In WeBuilder you can define snippets how you wish. There might be a problem with moving them from one programme to other. But this should be possible - if not automatically (by writing some custom data extractor from old files), then it is possible to do it manually.

Kind regards,
Gatis
