PHP (not only): When a variable is selected a field in the status bar should show the number of occurrences of this variable in this file. This would be very useful when having to find unique variable names or for many other purposes!
Edit: Yes, I can also use Code Explorer for this purpose, but displaying the number of occurrences in the status bar would be a quick and nice addition.

Yes, this has been asked some times already. I tend to think, it would be a nice addition to the functionality.
However, our common standpoint at this time is - we are not very sure there is any actual need to see the number of occurrences. If this is needed, then you can use the Find dialogue window, which will show you the number of items found.
