Save UTF8 file as html

Post by jaybeedesign »

I need to save files as UTF8 using XHTML1.0 Transistional and saved in HTML - NOT HTM in HTMLPad

I have tried setting up the options specifying HTML as default, and choosing UTF8 . The default template for a new file in this appears in XHTML Strict but I have tried just overwriting this with the DOCTYPE I require.

Go to save - choose HTML - it get saved as HTM and simply won't save as HTML

Can I overide these settings so that I can save in the format I need. I have no choice over DOCTYPE, UTF8 or HTML - these are all specified by the customer who is far too large an entity to argue with.

Hi,

So you're saying if you have a UTF-8 document, try and save with .html extension it just saves as .htm

Just tried it myself and it works fine, selecting html from the save as type

This saves as Docuument2.html

Or are you doing something different?
