Repair Rapid PHP Icon

Post by ingbodd »

Hi,

Somehow managed to break the Rapid PHP 2011 icon under windows 7 (probably with a regclean), any way to restore this without re-installation?

Do you mean files (eg, php) no longer have the RapidPHP icon? Do you know which files in particular?
It might be easier to associate PHP files with another application (eg, windows Paint) and then re-associate with RapidPHP. This would recreate the necessary registry entries.

Thanks for your reply, but I do not mean the file icons, I mean the actual Rapid PHP application icon (used in start menu, task bar, for the actual rapidphp.exe file etc), shows as the classic broken icon atm.
Don't want to re-install as past experience is that the export / import procedure only seems to save project details, not editor / general IDE settings.

If you right click the icon in Windows, do you get the icon in the properties window?
If you click the 'Change Icon' button at the bottom, do you get a 'Change Icon' dialog, with the application pre-filled in, and an icon in the list below?
(If none of that makes sense, yell, and I'll do a screencast thingy...)

If you do get an icon, change it to another program, then back again to RapidPHP...

Hmm, I remember it did show the icon when I checked in the change icon dialog window as described, which did seem odd. Will try switching to another icon and back again tonight (issue is on home machine) and post back if this works. Thanks.

That didn't work so took the long route..
Grabbed a png of the icon, got a converter from download.com to make ico file, set this as icon for shortcut then cleared the windows icon cache to fix taskbar etc.
Thanks anyway :)
