wb2011 lost all icons in the toolbars

Post by notuo »

Hi. I post this here first to see is anyone else with this issue.

Suddenly all my icons in all the toolbars went blank. (sometimes this happened before and just moving the cursor over the icons force the restore of them)

Today nothing. I have to start wb again. Look a this image to see this:

Crikey notuo, when you get a problem you don't mess about!

That is a very weird error. Icon bugs are usually graphics-driver related, so it would be interesting to know what OS you are running and what video card you have there. Some older Nvidia cards, for instance, display something similar in 'some' programs if using the very latest Nvidia drivers, because these drivers run the older cards far too hard and cause them to fault. Usually installing a driver as old as the card fixes it. I'm not saying that's what's wrong here, I'm just saying....

Another option is that if you are using Windows 7, it has some interesting icon bugs itself and though I haven't seen anything this weird in WB 2011 (yet) I have seen similar things with other system and start-menu icons. Refreshing the icon cache helps restore things temporarily, but it may keep happening if it is a Windows thing.

Great to see you again.

I edited mapleleaf post, because feedback on HTML5 is irrelevant to this topic.

Yes, we are aware about this icon problem and it seems to happen if computer has not been rebooted for a long time and only sometimes. We can not tell what is wrong since toolbars are based on third party component code. I know for sure that there are no leaks because we have measured that part of code for leaks, thus it is very difficult to tell where is the problem.

Thanks for your answers.

More information here: Windows 7 sp1 4GB mem Graphics card ATI Radeon x1200 series (all drivers and OS up to date) Laptop dell inspiron 1721 (kind of old by now but revitalized when I installed Windows 7)

I don't have this issue with any other program (as far I recall)

Karlis, just to add. I reboot my pc daily but I loaded with so many things. Maybe this happens when I have a lot of programs running; I'll check this.

Hope we can tie this error and fix it.

At least I am not the only one (In Mexico we say: mal de muchos consuelo de tontos. Google translate: many poor consolation of fools)
