HTMLPad 2011 still buggy

Post by madhg »

Well, after a few years away, I upgraded from HTMLPad 2006 to HTMLPad 2011, used it a bit, it has good features, but it crashes regularly. Disappointing.

I thought at first it might be because I was using split-screen synchronisation, a useful feature but obviously hard to implement and possibly buggy. But it crashed when I wasn't using split-screen. So, goodbye. I don't want to waste any more time on this, I'll use another editor.

If it was that buggy these forums would be buzzing with unhappy people claiming all manner of problems, and it just isn't. Granted, there are a few teething issues with the latest version, as there are with any new software, though no doubt the devs will do their best to sort them out as they arise. It is impossible to cover every possible base when releasing new programs.

Here's a thought; if it is crashing all the time, instead of whining why don't you submit crash reports and help make it better? You might even find it is something on your machine clashing with the software and the devs would like to know about it. Maybe they'll give you the next version free, or a free Bugatti Veyron Sport or something. Or just do it for the greater good.

Hi,
I thought at first it might be because I was using split-screen synchronisation, a useful feature but obviously hard to implement and possibly buggy. But it crashed when I wasn't using split-screen. So, goodbye. I don't want to waste any more time on this, I'll use another editor.
Indeed, if a crash happens, by all means, please send the automatic reports that are generated to our debug email address. This will help us to solve the issues quicker.
As for now, we can not do anything about the problem reported here, as it is not clear - how to repeat the problem; so we do not know what to look for.

Kind regards,
