Is live preview possible?

Post by psygn »

Right now I have to click on the refresh icon in the Preview pane for it to refresh and it's kind of a hassle, can you perhaps have an auto-refresh option?
Also, the refresh icon doesn't work in vertical layout for some reason (bug?).

Not exactly a 'real' live preview but you can set the preview to update after so many seconds by setting that option in the Preview -> General -> Built-in Preview refresh dialogue. I have mine set to the minimum (1 second) because that's what I want to see; changes immediately reflected in the preview window. This is one of the things I don't really love about WeBuilder because sometimes the focus is removed from the code window by the preview refreshing. Ce la vie.

The other thing to bear in mind is the refresh button doesn't seem to do what you'd expect it to do, that is, often hitting the refresh icon doesn't update the page you are viewing; instead, I have to highlight/select the Generate Preview line and hit the enter key which appears to regenerate the page and update the latest changes. As I said above, I almost never need to do this because I have it set to auto-refresh the preview anyway and only resort to generating a new file if things come unglued, which they do every now and then. Aside from these glitches I still find this the best editor for my needs.
