Convert special chars to entities problem

Hi all,

Very useful function converting of special chars to entities (Edit - > Convert Special Chars -> Special Chars to Entities) is not working for me.
I even create the empty html file with two strings: 1.&, 2. &. Test Special Chars to Entities and Entities to special chars. The reverse function is also not working.
I tested this features for selected and deselected text - no difference.
May be I'm doing something wrong?

I guess that the ampersand should be encoded with an entity all times in HTML. Try to convert something different, for example “Ålesund”.
The text should be selected first.

Hm, I hadn't such character in English or Russian keyboard layout but I made the another experiment after you reply called "convert the special char. to entity and reverse operation. Results:
1. Copyright - working
2. Register - working
3. Ampersand - not working
4. Double quotes - working
5. Acute accent as char to entity - no result. Acute accent as entity to char result - as usual that appears when you paste in editor some unrecognisable character (don't know the special name).
6. Section sign - working

I used only the characters that included to my keyboard layout. So you saw that some of them working, some of the - no.
BTW, p.3 and p.5 are the most important for me.

Use Search > Replace from the main menu. It will require a bit more work to enter search/repace text, but that might work.
