Disabling extended clipboard functionality

Post by Klipper »

Hi Blumetals crew!

I installed latest update of WeBuilder 2011. I use WeBuilder for about 4 years already.
I really like WeBuilder except for one thing: This (extended) clipboard functionality.
Is there a possibility to complete disable this build-in clipboard functions?

I want to use a clipboard manager of my own choice. (Clipcache Pro from XRayz)
I know I can disable clipboard monitoring from the extended clipboard panel, but this is not enough.

WeBuilder keeps on blocking pasting straight from Clipcache Pro. Currently I need to paste to Windows clipboard first from Clipcache Pro and then after that I can paste from clipboard into WeBuilder using Ctrl+v. So always a two-step action. In almost every other program I can just double click an item in Clipcache Pro and then the content gets pasted straight into that program: an one-step action.
The Clipcache Pro program brings far more clipboard-functionality as the build-in WeBuilder clipboard functionality. So please how can I get let Clipcache Pro paste straight into WeBuilder?

To disable Clipboard monitoring select Edit > Extended Clipboard from the main menu and click the Disable Clipboard Monitoring toolbar button.

Hi Nikolajs,

Thank you for your reply!

I wrote in my post: "I know I can disable clipboard monitoring from the extended clipboard panel, but this is not enough. "
Here I meant the solution you suggested. So yes, I know that I can disabling monitoring the windows clipboard using that button.

The problem I have is that in contrast to almost every other Windows application, WeBuilder keeps on blocking pasting using Clipcache Pro (even when I disable clipboard monitoring in WeBuilder) and that is very annoying, because Clipcache Pro has a wealth of extra clipboard features I use every single day as a webdeveloper.
(This functionality of Clipcache Pro should be build-in basic Windows functionality!)

I hope you can find out why WeBuilder blocks this functionality and you can fix it.
Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Klipper

That is not a bug. It is due to the way WeBuilder handles the clipboard. In fact, we cannot ensure that WeBuilder will work correctly with everyone clipboard utility because there are dozens of such tools available. If we make WeBuilder run correctly with Clipcache then it is possible that other clipboard utilities will still not work. We could remove the Extended Clipboard at all, but there are customers who use this feature.
