HTML5 Validation

Post by StigOfTheDump »

Hi
I am new to this forum and to HTML5. I have used RapidPHP 7,8 and 10 for a few years and just upgraded to 11. I just write a few amateurish pages for fun and decided to move on a step with another visual quickstart guide, this time HTML5&CSS3.

I have set HTML5 in the language options and find the article tag is available to use. When I validate with the built in TidyTask it rejects the article tag and thinks that the code is HTML3.2. Is there some configuration of the TidyTask that I need to do?

Thanks

Take a look at Webuilder 2014 (Beta here: http://www.webuilderapp.com/) which has Tidy that supports and validates HTML5 properly. If you just upgraded to RapidPHP2011 then you'll automatically get upgrade to RapidPHP2014 for free (see http://www.webuilderapp.com/buy.php).

Thanks for that, it solved my problem. The second link says WB2014 will be out this month. Is that the same for PHP2014?

I might try to change my upgrade to WB as it has the familiar look but has a few more features that I wouldn't use now, being on a linux server, but may use in the future. I am assuming that there is nothing in PHP that is not included in WB.

WeBuilder and RapidPHP will be released together. We are working on final fixes and plugin/scripting support and so far everything is going according to plan and "this month" is still the release target.

You are correct, WeBuilder has all RapidPHP features.
