2014 Beta: Top Menu Bar Items Disappear

Post by trishahdee »

My top menu bar items keep disappearing. This has happened to me since I upgraded from version 2009 to version 2010. At the time I was using WinXP. I am now on Win7 and using the new 2014 Beta version. I have the same problem. The dropdown menus are still there if I click around but the main menu buttons are blank. I just went to right click the bar to try to switch to a different menu when the program crashed.

I have a quad-core with nearly 3gig RAM. I have increased my GDI objects from 10k to 20k but there doesn't seem to be any relationship between how many GDI objects are being used and the problem as it happens even right after I reboot with very few programs opened.

I only get this issue with WeBuilder. None of my other programs are giving me any issues. I love WeBuilder and have been a loyal customer for years. I really hope you can help me find a solution to this annoyance.

And here is what it looks like when it just starts to happen. I'm hovering over the items and as I do so each one of them disappears:

Hi!

This is very strange indeed. I have seen this but only a few times during past few years and each tome the problem went away after restarting the program. I too hope we can resolve this, so I have prepared some questions:

1) How often does this happen for you? Multiple times per day? Every day? Every week? Every month?

2) Is it possible for you to do the settings export via Options -> Export Settings and send them to our support?

3) Do you use any Windows interface customization apps or custom skins?

4) Have you tried another Interface style (View -> Interface style), if not, can you try another style for a while and get back to our support with results?

5) How many files are usually open when this happens?

Thank you so much.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread... I worked with Karlis through a support ticket and he was able to find a solution after I discovered the problem happened in conjunction with a little 16bit Button Bar that I have been using for years. http://www.uwe-sieber.de/bbar_e.html

It's so nice to actually see the menus again :) I think I'll be learning a lot more of WB capabilities now that I can see them :D

Thank you for the assist Karlis.
