Cannot edit template files in Rapid PHP 2014

Post by wildscribe »

I cannot seem to edit template files in Rapid PHP 2014.

Right now I need to change the default HTML doctype to <!DOCTYPE html> from <!DOCTYPE HTML> along with a few other changes like adding meta charset and lang=en to the template.

But when I go into edit the template at \Rapid PHP 2014\HTML\Default.html

It will not let me save the file and I get the error message "Please check if this file is opened in another program."

I also want to edit some other template files.

I suppose I could change the file permissions, but I am wondering what is the safe way to edit and create template files?

Great program by the way.

I have been using Rapid PHP for almost 10 years and aside from the problem that I mentioned above, this is by far the best HTML/CSS/PHP editor available. It's one of the reasons why I haven't completely gone to Mac. I like the preview tab and having the option to view the page in either IE or Chrome. I also like the X-Ray feature in IE. I also like being able to make custom snippets and the code completion is very accurate and saves a ton of time.

All best,

Wild

Try running Rapid PHP As Administrator for template editing session. This problem needs to be addressed anyway, I'll add it to the list.
