I've been using HTMLPad 2011 for a couple of years, for HTML and CSS editing, personal non-commercial projects. I don't do any scripting.
Wondering whether to upgrade to the latest HTMLPad or get RapidCSS.
Are there any non-script-related features in HTMLPad that are not in RapidCSS? Is there a difference in stability or a large difference in size?
Thanks in advance for answers,
David

Re: HTMLPad upgrade or RapidCSS?
Hi David,
Here is a page showing the differences between the various editors http://www.rapidcsseditor.com/editions.php
As for stability, I beleive they are all based on the same editor, just with more syntax & language features bolted on.
I've only ever used WeBuilder and it is very stable.

Thanks for your reply, Mike. I had looked at the page you refer to, and it doesn't answer my question.
Rapid CSS is described as "Lightweight HTML and CSS editor", HTMLPad and Rapid PHP are both "Fully packed HTML, CSS and ...". So does lightweight mean fewer HTML and CSS features than fully packed?

HTML and CSS feature wise these are the same. Performance wise there will be almost no difference as well, since all editions are lightweight compared with competing products with similar features.
Re: HTMLPad upgrade or RapidCSS?
OK, thanks Karlis. I see that on different pages, they are both described as "lightweight", instead of one being "fully packed", and now I found the feature list, pretty well identical apart from HTMLPad having Javascript. In fact it's cheaper to upgrade HTMLPad rather than buying Rapid CSS, so I'll probably do that.
