Inadvertently, through a key combination that I cannot reproduce, a code line was highlighted:

It's a bookmark 
Ctrl + Shift + 0-9 to toggle it, Ctrl + 0-9 to jump to it (or from main menu Search -> Toggle Bookmarks and Goto Bookmarks). I use the bookmarks all the time while coding, so that I can jump quickly between the sections I'm working on

Cool, I could use that! But are you sure that Ctr+n is the key combination to jump to the bookmark? Toggling with Ctrl+Shift+n goes well, but nothing happens when I scroll up/down and press Ctrl+n? Not even when I scroll up/down and put the cursor there?

Pretty sure, unless you've defined they combination to be used for something else.

You're right. I indeed did assign a number of Ctrl+n combinations to other functions. There are still a few original though, which work fine.
