As this is primarily a text editing tool for me, its annoying to be forced to grab the mouse, point to multi-line in the search dialog, then click it to restrain to a single line search.... and then find that the text I started typing or pasted, is gone and replaced with whatever is under the edit cursor.
How can I set the search dialog to always use single line by default? Or better yet, add a shortcut combination to restrain it?
I've also tried to figure out how to restrain the cursor to places where text was changed when using undo, not cycling back through every key stroke! how?
thanks!

Re: setting search replace dialog defaults - multi line madn
The Search & Replace dialog should remember the last state - if you set it to single line it will be single line next time you open it. Doesn't it work for you?
