additions to project manager

Post by robtbs »

Hi,
your software is good,
i use dreamweaver purely for its site manager feature, i like to be able to quickly flick between all the projects im working on.

Your software is almost there...
Because i work with a team of designers... all our site files are stored on a server locally and on our ftp server, the local and remote locations are basically clones of each other.

Basically the only thing thats major your project manager is missing is ... On save upload file.

So like dreamweaver you hit save. it saves locally and uploads remotely.

//------
Even better a copy of dreamweavers site manager would be perfect :D

Cheers
*-Rob

Currently you can use File -> Publish to FTP, this both saves the file and also uloads it. We plan to improve project publishing in the next major release.

more ideas....

Post by MoeBass »

I guess I'll just put my comments for this under this topic:
During publish project, while a group of files are being uploaded:
1) all that is visible is the current file transfer status. with no indication of how many files done/left-to-go. :?
2) the function of the cancel button appears to only apply to the immediate file being transferred. not the entire publish process.

I propose this on the revamp of "publish project" feature:
1) display a list (scrolling view, for example) of all the files pending transfer as publish begins (in a modal window :!: )
2) as each file is being transferred, that filename gets bolded with percentage next to the filename
3) when concluded, 100% or 'done' appears next to file name(s) transferred.
4) make the cancel button terminate the whole publish session.

Thank you for considering these ideas. :)

if, no matter where you go, nothing seems to change, maybe it's time to look at what you're bringing with you.

In version 2006 you will be able to see both complete progress and the progress of current file. Cancel will work for the session.
