Image Maps - Edit Tags

Post by Paul Bristow »

Could you please tell me if Image Maps are supported in WeBuilder 2006 also is it possible to right mouse button and edit a particular tag, I am looking to migrate from Macromedias Homesite (been using it for 7 years) and WeBuilder 2006 looks like a good possible alternative. :?:

As far as I know, image maps are pieces of html code, to be precise - map and area tags which can be edited just like any other HTML code.

If you meant visual editor of image maps, then I am afraid that this is currently not possible, although we are considering adding image map editor in the future releases.

I also switched from homesite and i think you won't be disappointed. Some special features may be missing or different, but in return you get lots of features homesite doesn't have (and will never get...).

And your second question: if you mean the "edit tag" feature of homesite, in webuilder you have the "inspector"-panel which shows attributes of the selected tag, and you can edit them there directly. You can leave this panel visible, so there's no need to right-click.

Thanks for all of your replies good see a program supported, since my post I have been delving into the program and if I found any issues I soon resolved them as it easy to configure.

Actually used it today on a project at is was a joy to use after Homesite (it used to be a good program but is no longer developed or supported) found a 3rd party image map program so no issues there, used the inspector panel for secondary editing also with no issues.

Another ex-Homesite user (since version 2.0 even!) who is extremely pleased with WeBuilder. It takes a bit of work to get everything configured and get used to the new interface. One thing that helped immensely was remapping some of the keyboard shortcuts to match those in Homesite.

We do try to support users who convert from HomeSite, each version of our editors include a couple of more missing features, I would be very grateful if I could have the list of things that you really miss from HomeSite.

Currently on the list are:
* Image Map Editor
* User defined Multi-line Auto Complete/Insert
* Code Templates
and a couple of more...
