How to change the format of the inserted date stamp

I just noticed the Insert Date Stamp function, but it seems to just come out as 7/2/2006. I cannot see a way to change to to another format, such as July 2, 2006. Am I just missing it?

Its taken from the short date format within the control panel, so you can simply change that format.

In Win 2000, go to Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel) and click the 'Regional Options'. Click the 'Date' tab and change the 'Short date format'. If you've XP, its slightly similar, but different dialog window (I believe).

Thanks for the info, Karlis. I looked into the Control Panel short date format but it doesn't provide what I am looking for. The Long format is more what I am interested in. Any chance of adding the option? Or adding your own variations?

If you change the short date format to "MMMM dd, yyyy" (without quotes) then it should give you the format you desire. You can type in the combo box (well, you can in Win 2000) its not just a drop down box.

The date/time format used is the system default, so it depends on how your PC is set up.
