Access violation in RapidPHP
I have used the trial version of RapidPHP for a while and really liked it. I was having a problem occasionally with an acced violation error. I could not pinpoint what I was doing that caused this error or what I needed to do to cancel it. It seemed to be something with selecting a bit of text. I purchased the full version recently thinking that this error may have been fixed in the full version. It apparently hasn't, because I got it again today. The exact error is as follows "Access violation at address 0056CDCB in module ā€rapidphp.exe’. Read of address 038D4003". If anyone can tell me why this error shows up, it would be appreciated.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce the problem. At least so that we can repeat it in some 30% of attempts.
This is necessary for us to tell what is wrong and how to fix it. I do work with Rapid PHP every day and have not seen anything like that so it could be also computer-specific issue or something that happens under specific circumstances only.

I'm having the same problem with the full & up-to-date version of WeBulder (7.2.0.68)
It was also happening in the previous version, but I always forgot to post about it!
Access violation at address 0057900F in module 'webuild.exe'. Read of address 03AE4001
It happens the same as dbemowsk, it seems to happen randomly be when selecting text with the mouse.
The message then keeps popping up everytime I click the mouse, only way to stop it is to close WeBuilder.
I cannot pin-point it down anymore than selecting text with the mouse.

Does this happen only when you select text or also when typing and doing other stuff? If it is with selection, does it happen when you start selecting text or when you have finished this operation?
Could it be that this happens only on right-click?
This is not an easy one, because we have no clues at all. so any additional info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update:
I just had it happen.
I had about 10 files open, and used the mouse to change the current file using the file tabs along the bottom.
The message appeard when I clicked the new file tab.
I did have some text selected in the file I was originally on, but none in the file I clicked on. (if that makes sense!)

Just had the error again, different read address:
Access violation at address 0057900F in module 'webuild.exe'. Read of address 04C10000
This time WeBuilder was in the background, as a maximized window, with 3 files open.
I was using a different application (Microsoft SQL Enterprise Manager version 8)
I closed down Enterprise Manager, and WeBuilder was now the top application.
I clicked with the mouse in the main edit window, and got the error.
Moving the mouse is now selecting text as if the left mouse button is pressed (but it's not)
Each click of the mouse shows the error again. (text is still being selected as if the button is pressed)
I have to exit from WeBuilder to stop error, and hope it saves my files, which it does luckily!
I just tried to re-create it again using the same procedure as above, but it is okay.
It's very random when it happens.

Hmmmmm, had it again, this is more regular than it usually happens.
Three files open, switched from one file to another with mouse using file tabs at the bottom.
Access violation at address 0057900F in module 'webuild.exe'. Read of address 0397C000
No text seleted, and mouse behaves as normal after the error.
The error only appeared once this time.

Oh, happened again.
I'm sure this never used to happen every day...
4 files open.
Selected about 50 lines of code with the mouse (to copy & paste into another file)
When I let go of the left-mouse button the error:
Access violation at address 0057900F in module 'webuild.exe'. Read of address 03DA4002
Error appears every time I click the mouse, and it's selecting text.
Have to exit WeBuilder to stop error.
Some system info:
Dell Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
512MB RAM
1.5GB free on C: drive
Windows XP Pro SP2 (with all latest updates)
1280 x 1024 monitor resolution with 32bit colour set
Intel 82865G Graphics Controller
Mouse is shown as "Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (IntelliPoint)"

Just had it again, completely different circumstances again.
WeBuilder was open with about 3 files loaded.
I was in Windows Explorer, and double-clicked on an ASP file which is associated with WeBuilder so they open up in WeBuilder.
Nothing happened for a few seconds, then WeBuilder came to the top, error:
Access violation at address 0057900F in module 'webuild.exe'. Read of address 04AAC002
Clicked OK to close the error and WeBuilder appeard to continue with just the original 3 files loaded.

I presume this is the only program thats causing you problems? I've not had any issues with this, and it seems quite an infrequent problem and not that widespread, albeit annoying for you when it does happen!
I was just wondering if its anything to do with your particular setup - memory, or disk.
I know I had big problems with AutoRoute, and it turned out to be a dodgy hard disk.
Have you run a memory checker on your system?

Hi chrisjlocke,
Yes, WeBuilder is the only application that shows this behaviour, and no other applications crash.
Luckily I've never lost any work due to this happening, so it's more of an annoyance than anything. If I was losing work then I'd be more concerned.
I've posted when it happens so many times as it seems to always be under different circumstances when I'm doing something different with WeBuilder to hopefully give Karlis more to go on when looking for this problem.
I can't think it would be a hardware problem as no other application, or Windows XP has any problems.
I could try it in my Windows 2000 boot on this PC to see if the same thing happens, and I'll see if I can run some hd/ram checkers on this system.
