Font choice in editor

Post by CanadaBill »

Hi,

I don't seem to have a complete list of my installed fonts in the editor options. I've tried reinstalling but still no good. What's the deal?

This is down to WeBuilder only showing fonts that are fixed width fonts. This is down to the editor unfortunately, as it doesn't like propertional width fonts.

Interestingly this was asked the other week, but that topic no longer exists. Weird.

What?! I find that a bit weak, this would be the only app I've ever heard of that must have certain fonts to operate!

There is the issue of readability. There are certain fonts I find more comfortable when coding for hours on end.

I hope that this isn't deleted.

This was mentioned in the deleted thread. You can doctor WeBuilder to use proportional fonts, but its not happy about it:

Again, I believe this is down to the third party editor used within WeBuilder, so it might be outside of Karlis' 'jurisdiction'.

As to why the other thread was removed, I have no idea. Its not our policy to delete threads, so the original poster must have done it, which I didn't think he could do. Must look into that...

Yeah - my original post was [apparently] deleted. Criticism is not appreciated here I guess....

Currently you can choose only from fixed size fonts. I agree that other fonts would be nice, but in order to be able to provide many of other important features, we have to limit us to fixed fonts only - for technical/economical reasons.

P.S.

Constructive criticism is accepted. You can write "I do not like that there is no such feature" or "For *my* needs this is not accceptable".

Unconstructive general criticism in style of "this program is weak/sux and that other one is great" is not accepted, sorry 8)

That was not the case. I simply gave you 2 examples of editors that were both powerful and allowed for font choices. One of which you apparently borrowed from greatly when putting together your products - why not go all the way and grab that editor as well?
