Project swap bug in File Explorer

Post by gLes »

Hi!

I tried searching the forum for this bug but didn't find anything (maybe I didn't try hard enough).

I'm using WeBuilder 7.1.

When I'm in the Project view of the File Explorer pane and I'm in a subdirectory and thus I change to another project, the File Explorer doesn't forget the subdirectory and looks for it in the new project, although it doesn't exist, and it remains in the treeview.

I thought you might find this interesting :)

Best regards,
gLes

This is in the schedule already.

The problem should not happen if you use split / combined view.

I use combined view and have this problem. usually creates an ALERT error on project switch. I couldn't say for sure at the moment but I think it usually involves folders opened across the network.

The software is not really built to support remote shared folders (the folder list control may not support them well), so maybe it is the cause.

Just noting that it's been a few versions since and the bug still exists, I suppose it's still in schedule

pretty funny! this just happened to me for umteenth time and I came to look for this thread to see if there had been a fix - and it was the first topic!

it's no big deal but it is annoying. :) By nature of my work environment, I do at least half of my work over a network.

Ok, so here is the status, currently there should be no problems if you have a Project open and then switch to another project, the folder is not remembered and no error message is shown.

If you are still having this problem, you should submit more details, I will try to re-schedule the newly defined problem.

Hi!

It's funny, but it only seems to happen with one certain project, and only when a subfolder is select. Then when I swap projects the root folder (I actually named the folder 'root') is appended to the other project's folderlist and is initially selected so I get a message that the folder is unavailable, bla bla, and it stays there and I can select it again later. Another thing is that when I want to swap back to the original project and this phantom folder is selected, first I only get the same message that the folder is unavailable, and when I try again then it changes to the project all right.

I attached a few screenshots for better illustration
